Welcome to The Art of Hmong Embroidery – a blog dedicated to the art of Hmong needlework and traditional Hmong attire.

I have been practicing Hmong needlework for over 25 years, starting when I was just six or seven. I can’t think of anything else in my life that I learned at such a young age that still peaks my interest. Like many young Hmong girls, I was taught by my mom, who was taught by her mom, which is the way it has been for ages. I continue this tradition by teaching my daughter in the hopes that she will in turn teach it to her children someday.
