Hmong New Year is upon us. The clans around Luang Prabang gather on a meadow in the city for a 5-day festival.

This is the place to find a partner. The Hmong courtship starts with a ball tossing game. People line up in two rows and toss balls at each other. Look at it as a way to break the proverbial ice.
